Kale + Chickpea Hummus

If you want to make your own hummus instead of buy it, and if you have a food processor - here’s one of my favorite go-to healthy recipes. It works for the detox program with lots of greens + beans.

You can make it in a blender, it will just come about a bit chunkier, but still tasty! 

Serving Size: 3-4 snack portions

prep time: 10 minutes


1 cup kale

1 can chickpeas

1/4 cup olive oil

2 cloves garlic

1/2 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp coriander

1/4 tsp salt pepper 


Prep work:

  1. 1)Chop up kale
  2. 2)Slice 2 cloves of garlic into long thin strips
  3. 3)Drain chickpeas


  1. 4)Heat 1 Tbsp olive oil in sautéed over high heat and add garlic and chickpeas for just 3-4 minutes until warm. Stir often.
  2. 5)Add chickpeas, garlic and oil to food processor. Add kale, spices, and 2 Tbsps olive oil (leaving oneTbsp left to add to make it creamier.)
  3. 6)Taste test and add more olive oil, S+P as needed.
